CEREBRAL PALSYDespite all the advances in obstetrics in the past thirty years, infants still suffer injury as a result of problems during a mother’s pregnancy and during delivery. The signs and symptoms may be noticed shortly after birth or observations in the early months that may be noted by poor feeding; delay in turning over, sitting, crawling, standing, walking, evidence of spasticity of extremities, speech, social interaction and intelligence. Some children may have strictly damage to their motor neurons affecting sitting, standing or walking and have normal intelligence. Others may have combination of all factors. Typical treatment consists
of physical therapy, speech therapy and special tutoring. In some children
there can be noticeable improvements with these regimens. There are,
however, large numbers of children that show evidence of residual brain
damage. Our treatment protocol consists of:
